An Upwork-style brief, taken from "send me a quote" to a deployed landing in 25 minutes.

Most Upwork bids on a job like this one open with "I have 5+ years of experience in landing pages and would love to discuss." This is what bidsmith does instead.

The brief

This is a fabricated-but-typical Upwork landing-page brief. It is the genre — opinionated indie SaaS, fixed budget, fast turnaround — that the bidsmith pitch is sharpest for.

Looking for a freelancer to build the marketing landing for our new product, Lighthouse Spec. We help small product teams turn rough Notion docs into clean, stakeholder-ready specs.

Need:
- A single-page landing
- Strong hero, 3 value props, how-it-works, pricing (Free / $19 Pro / Team-quoted), contact form
- Modern, opinionated design — not a startup template

Budget: $400-600 fixed.
Need it in 5 days.

The artifact (open in a new tab)

A real deployed page — copy, type, layout, contact form, all of it. This is the file that would be attached to the bid as landing.html, plus a hosted preview link.

The proposal copy that gets attached

Two short paragraphs and a link. Not a cover letter.

Hi —

I read your brief and built the first version of Lighthouse Spec's landing in
25 minutes. Live preview here: [link]. The HTML file is attached to this bid.

The opinionated calls I made (so you can argue with them before I do more):
- Hero leads on "rough Notion doc" pain, not "AI-powered specs"
- Pricing is 3 tiers with a real "Team quoted" — no fake enterprise gate
- Contact form is one question: "send your messiest doc"

If the artifact is in the right ballpark, I'd love to take it from v0 to
ship-ready: real form backend, your brand, copy edits, mobile polish. My
$ would land at the lower end of your range.

Why this works: the bid opens with the work. The client clicks the preview link before reading any sentence about the freelancer. The decision the client has to make goes from "do I trust this person?" to "do I want this version, or do I want a different version?". That is a much smaller, much more answerable decision.

Hand-running bidsmith on 5 real bids per week. Want one of the slots?

Until the agent is automated, I'm personally producing artifact + proposal copy for whoever sends me a real Upwork brief. Free. No equity, no clawback. Worst case you keep what I send.

I reply within ~24h with the artifact + proposal copy.
